I am not afraid of needles at all it was just weird doing it to myself and I have had a rule for years never to look at the needle so I didnt watch any of it in real life but tomorrow I will. Note: I did not show the preperation you have to do beforehand to make this safe and I should have released my muscle after the needle was in but I was nervous… hence my husband who had to keep reminding me to keep the needle at a 90 degree angle and tell me how much more was in there so I knew how fast or slow I needed to go… but since I didnt feel ANYTHING I had no idea without looking haha!

i have cancer and the chemotherapy I’m on causes neuropathy. my oncologist has advised me to take 100mg ofvitamin B6, but this is not alleviating the symptoms.

Answer by Doctor J High doses of Vitamin B6 (300 milligrams or more per day) for long periods of time (greater than 6 months) in a few people has caused peripheral neuropathy.
100 mg/day is considered safe. I do not know why your doctor is recommending B6 for the treatment of your chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy. I just did a ‘quick’ search of Pubmed (where the world’s medical research can be reviewed) and found several studies showing the supplement Acetyl-L-Carnitine may be effective for the treatment of chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathies. This might be a better ‘bet’ than B6.
You can read these studies by going to Pubmed (enter ‘entrez pubmed’ in your search engine). In the search window of Pubmed enter: ‘chemotherapy peripheral neuropathy Acetyl-L-Carnitine’. You may want to share these studies with your doctor.

so I am 22w4d pregnant, my fiances babymom from another relationship (obviously) decided to be “sweet” and give me some of her left over B6 pills, she has two full bottles, she just had twins a couple months ago. I take my prenatals everyday, is it nessecary to take this B6 vitamin too? I know it can not hurt, but did anyone take both? I remember her telling me before that she thinks she is “allergic” to prenatals so I’m thinking maybe this is why she was taking the B6? I know extra B6 can help with morning sickness, but fortunately I am not experiencing that any longer! Any information?

Answer by The dancing cat I tried taking B6 together with my prenatals in hope of getting rid of my morning sickness, which was excruiating (sorry for spelling). It didnt help me. So I stopped taking it. I do not think there is any other benefit if you are already taking your prenatals.
