Neutrogena Skin Clearing Makeup is drying out my face?

Question by Miss Elaina‚ô•: Neutrogena Skin Clearing Makeup is drying out my face?
Alright, so a few weeks ago I bought the Neutrogena Skin Clearing foundation. I love it, and it’s the only makeup I’ve found that’s natural looking, long lasting, and actually matches my skin tone. The only problem is, it really dries out my skin since it has salicylic acid in it for acne. I have mild to moderate acne, so my skin can get dried out from all the salicylic acid in the makeup.
I’d really love to keep wearing the Neutrogena makeup, since it’s fantastic for my skin except it’s making parts of it a bit dry.
Does anyone have any advice on how I can use the foundation but prevent it from drying out my face? Moisturizers to use before to prevent dryness, anything?
Thanks so much! :)

I had the exact same thing, i tried everything moisturise every night before bed, wash my face more often.
And nothing worked for me, so i just stopped using it.
Now i just use Mabelline ‘Dream Matte Mousse’ and then i just cleanse my face every night before bed.
Thats the best advice i can give you i’m afraid.
hope it works.

I think using about any face lotion before you put it on would help. The one I use is Aveeno Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer. It’s also SPF 15 lol.

Do you use a primer before you apply your foundation? If not, then this will help create a barrier between your foundation and skin, which should help prevent it from drying out your face.
Also, if you moisturize your face every night before you go to bed and every morning before you apply your make-up, then it should keep your face looking bright and not dry.
I have some suggestions for moisturizers, too. A wonderful one that I know of is the ProActiv Green Tea moisturizer. I don’t know if you can buy this where you live, though. Another one is an oil-free moisturizer from Juice Beauty. They have a website, but you can also get it at Pharmaca.
Hope I could help! Happy New Year .!

Using a thicker, more penetrating moisturizer will really help to keep the foundation from drying out your skin too badly.

I’d actually suggest the Burts Bees Carrot facial moisturizer… it is amazing… while it contains oils, they are not skin-clogging, and actually help to regulate your skin’s production of oils itself… not to mention it’s an all-natural and cruelty-free product.

hey! i have the same foundation and basically use to hav the same problem. put on a moisturizer before foundation (unless your skin already is feeling well hydrated enough). clean and clear have a good moisturizer for face and you can find it at target or nearest drugstore. be sure to well moisturizer areas where you have blemishes or acene because they tend to be a little extra dry .btw i love how the shade i have of the skin clearing foundaton matches my skin too XD. hope this helped best of luck!!
